TURNER – Two major fundraisers for Leavitt Area High School Project Graduation have been scheduled for the last two weeks in March.

First, an auction of donated items will be held in the cafeteria of the school Saturday, March 25. Doors will open at 9 a.m. for inspection of the donated items, before auctioneer Abe Additon goes to work and the bidding begins at 10. Additon of Greene is a parent, grandparent and substitute teacher in the SAD 52 system,

People wishing to donate items for the auction should contact Project Graduation Co-chairmen Phil and Rachel Lessard at 946-5780, or the high school, 225-3533. The committee will pick up items from the donors.

All funds from the auction go to the school’s 29th Project Graduation program, which will be held graduation night at the University of Maine at Farmington’s Health and Fitness Center. A fun, sleepless night of substance-free events and activities is being planned.

Then, on Friday, March 31, Maine comedian-storyteller Bob Marley will be on the Leavitt stage for the third year in a row in support of the graduation night program. Marley’s humor program will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets for the performance are $15 and on sale at Schrep’s Corner Store in Turner, the Greene IGA Store on Route 202 and the high school.

Previous Marley appearances have all been early sellouts; those interested in supporting the program and hearing Marley, should purchase tickets as soon as possible.
