NEWBURY, N.H. (AP) – A Concord man known for his love of skiing has died after veering off a trail and crashing into a tree at Mount Sunapee.
Mark Parris, 44, was skiing on an intermediate trail Friday afternoon when he skied into the woods. He died later that day at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
Parris grew up in Henniker, where he skied and worked at Pats Peak. He took winters off from his job as a stone mason so he could ski and race.
One ski instructor at Pats Peak called Parris a fixture at the ski area who will be remembered for his magnetic personality.
