HALLOWELL – Margaret Ellen McKeen, 100, of Albion, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Walters Home.

She was born in Auburn on April 10, 1905, the daughter of Clarence and Edith Johnson. She was also educated in Auburn schools.

She married Arthur L. McKeen on Oct. 25, 1921. They lived in the Norway area for several years, where they operated a nursing home. Later they moved to Harrison and finally to Albion.

She was a member of the Knox Ridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and loved playing the piano.

She will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Agnes Hathaway of Albion, Ruth Young of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Anna Small and her husband, Harold, of Freemont, N.H.; her son, Robert McKeen and his wife, Esther, of Barrington, N.H.; her daughter-in-law, Jean McKeen of Albion; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her nephew, Alton Howe; two nieces, Marion Howe and Alice Allen; and foster daughter, Rose Gerow of Hallowell.

She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Edith Johnson; her husband, Arthur; her son, David; her sister, Mabel Knox; her brother, Harold Johnson; and one grandchild, Dougie McKeen.
