LEWISTON – Hospice Foundation of America’s 13th annual teleconference, “Pain Management at the End of Life: Bridging the Gap Between Knowledge and Practice,” is set for Wednesday, April 5, at the Carriage House Plus Banquet Facility, Lewiston, and at Franklin Memorial Hospital, Farmington.
The national community seminar is co-hosted by Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, the Fortin Group-Funeral and Cremation Services, and the Franklin Memorial Hospital Board of Chaplains.
Three continuing education credits are available for nurses, social workers, case managers, home health aides, counselors, funeral directors, clergy, psychologists, physicians, EMS personnel, EAPs and nursing home administrators.

Registration will begin at 1 p.m. and the national teleconference at 1:30 p.m. Moderated by Frank Sesno, special CNN correspondent, it will feature a panel that will discuss understanding the experience of pain, assessment and management of pain and societal issues surrounding pain management and control.
When the teleconference concludes at 4 p.m., a local panel discussion will convene until 4:30 p.m. The panel offers the opportunity to discuss the issues raised in the conference and answer questions. A companion book written for the teleconference will be available for sale as well.
