WALES – Alan D. Johnson, 52, a resident of 49 Autumn Drive, Lewiston, died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, March 4, on Sabattus Pond.

He was born in Lewiston, May 11, 1953, the son of Donald J. and Muriel (Gilbert) Johnson. He attended Poland schools, was a 1971 graduate of Edward Little High School and a 1975 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono. While at the university, he was a proud member of the Delta Upsulon fraternity.

He began his career as a farm manager of the former Hillcrest Foods in Lewiston and then worked 22 years for Maine Oxy in Auburn. At the time of his death, he was employed with Fastenal Company in Lewiston.

His hobbies included the great outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his mother, Muriel Johnson of Auburn; his fiancee, Debbie Berry of Lewiston; one sister, Ann E. Warren and her fianc, Doug Oken of Millinockett; two nephews, Kyle Warren of Worcester, Mass., and Kendon Warren of Wawkegan, Ill.; and one niece, Candace Bauer of Olympia, Wash.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald in 1991.
