SANFORD – Irene Mildred Hinkley, 84, a resident of Hanson Ridge Road, formerly of Saco died Tuesday, March 7, at the Newton Center for Nursing Care.
She was born in Shelburne, N.H., on June 22, 1921, a daughter of Percy and Delia (Green) Dunbar.
She attended Gorham, N.H. area schools. She graduated from Rumford Community Hospital with a nursing degree. She worked as a RN until she married Richard R. Hinkley from Rumford Point on Oct. 19, 1944.
They lived their married life in Saco.
Mrs. Hinkley is survied by three sons, Gerald P. Hinkley and his wife, Sharon, of Lyman, Donald W. Hinkley of Orono and Robert J. Hinkley of Gray; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard R. Hinkley; two brothers, Harry and John Dunbar; a sister, Doris Lowell; and a granddaughter, Deanne Hinkley.
