GORHAM – Alexis R.D. Handy, a 2004 graduate of Lewiston High School, will be featured in the University of Southern Maine production of “Blood Brothers.” Handy, a sophomore, is a musical theater major and dean’s list student. She is the daughter of Sharon and Jim Handy of Lewiston.

The classic British musical will open Friday, March 17, at the Russell Theater, University of Southern Maine.

Scheduled for nine performances over two weeks, the musical drama set in Liverpool is about twins separated at birth but whose lives intersect, ultimately with tragic consequences. Handy will appear as Donna Marie Johnstone, sister to the twins.

Curtain time will be 7:30 p.m. on March 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25; with 5 p.m. matinees on March 19, 22 and 26. There will be a 10 a.m. high school matinee on March 21. Tickets are $15 for the general public, $10 for faculty and seniors, and $5 for students. The Russell Theater Box Office can be contacted at 780-5151 for reservations.
