I take exception to the Sun Journal’s use and promotion of bad grammar. I am no expert of the English language, but I recognize the use of inexcusable non-words, or jargon, if you prefer. The cartoon strips present non-words on a daily basis, such as “wanna,” “gonna,” “musta,” “outta,” etc., much to my dismay.

Recently, one reporter interviewed a person who used that vernacular profusely and the story was written that way. They must have (musta) graduated from the same phonics class.

Is it any wonder that children today are getting more and more illiterate? Children are reading this newspaper in school.

Every time I read that trash, I get the urge to burn the paper.
