Bullying can be found in every school in the country. Some kids think it is funny and cool, but it’s not. I feel that children need to be aware of the damaging effects bullying can have on another child. They also need to know the consequences that follow bullying.

People who were bullied as children are more likely to suffer from depression and low self-esteem well into adulthood. The bullies themselves are more likely to engage in criminal behavior later in their life.

Bullying is often found as a part of the way young people interact in our society. Every school must recognize its extent and impact and take time to stop bullying from happening.

There are many ways schools could prevent bullying. Schools could get students more involved with the civil rights team, or have mix it up day more often. Schools could encourage students to participate in the Unity Project.

When bullying is ignored, children will suffer harassment. Bullying is unacceptable. Everybody has the right to come to school and get an education fear free and feel safe. It should not be tolerated at any level. In the end, nobody wins. Preventing bullying is everyone’s responsibility.
