ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Dr. Edward Gilkey and Tonia Lawrence were wed on Feb. 14 in Anchorage, Alaska, by the Rev. Dr. Michael K. Mitchell.

Mr. Gilkey is the son of the late Edward and Lorraine Gilkey of Masbeth, N.Y. Mrs. Gilkey is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noyes Lawrence of Lisbon Falls.

Dr. Gilkey is a graduate of Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan. He received a master’s degree in biology from St. John’s University, a master’s degree from Temple University and an MD degree from SUNY Downstate in New York. He was chief family practice resident at Overlook Hospital in Summit, N.J., an affiliate of Columbia University. He is currently chief physician executive at the Alaskan Native Medical Center in Anchorage.

The bride is a graduate of Lisbon High School and attended Mid-State College. For many years she was employed at Central Maine Medical Center and owned and operated Adventure Tours of Maine. She is currently a tour director/exploration leader in Denali National Park and Fairbanks, Alaska, and is opening a land tour business in Anchorage.

Dr. Gilkey has two children, Kirstin of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Torin, a sophomore at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. Mrs. Gilkey has a son, Jared Rice, a senior at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, R.I.
