FARMINGTON – There will be a meeting for town forest wardens at the Farmington Fire Rescue training room at 7 p.m. Monday, April 3. The local forest rangers will conduct the meeting and will have handouts. Reports from last year’s fire season will be given. For details, call 778-3235.

Wildlife workshop

DAMARISCOTTA – A workshop for officials, conservation groups and residents interested in conserving wildlife in Maine’s shoreland habitats will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at the Friends Meeting House on Belvedere Road.

Shoreland habitat, the area adjacent to lakes, rivers, marshes and other wetlands, is critical habitat for more than 60 Maine wildlife species.

Organized by Maine Audubon, Damariscotta River Association, Damariscotta Lake Watershed Association and Maine Department of Environmental Protection, the workshop is based on Maine Audubon’s new guide, “Conserving Wildlife in Maine’s Shoreland Habitats.”

Presenters will answer questions. Code enforcement officers can receive two hours of continuing education credit for attending. Light refreshments will be provided. To register or for more information, call Maine Audubon at 781-2330, ext. 235, or e-mail conserve@maineaudubon.org.

Beekeepers session

AUGUSTA – The Maine State Beekeepers Association will hold its annual meeting on Saturday, April 8, at the Calumet Club.

The Western Maine Beekeepers Association will present the meeting with a theme of: “Sustainable Beekeeping in the Northeast.” The fee is $25 and includes a buffet luncheon and morning refreshments.
