WATERFORD – Waterford Grange 479 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 10, at the Grange Hall. Refreshments will follow the meeting.
A Community Service Night-Community Spaghetti Supper will be put on by the Grange at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 24, at the Grange Hall,Valley Road.
The Grange held a joint meeting with Bear Mountain Grange at the Waterford Congregational Church on March 13. Present were 15 Waterford Grange members, 12 Bear Mountain Grange members and eight visitors. The evening began with a potluck supper. New Life for Girls members entertained with songs and stories. A game was played, then each Grange conducted short business meetings.
The results from the annual Grange cooking contest was: Waterford Grange, two winners, Marjorie Kimball and Joan Frobig, each $5 and gift; Bear Mountain Grange, Janet Whittier. There were eight entries.
Four members from Waterford Grange participated in the National Grange Essay Contest, “Why I Belong to the Grange.” The winner will be announced at the April 10 2006 meeting and will be awarded a $10 prize. All entries will be sent to the Maine State Grange contest April 15.
