KINGFIELD – Hair stylist Wendy Meldrum has recently opened the doors of her first salon after working for others in the business for 12 years. The Riverview Salon is at 246 Main St., adjacent to the Herbert Grand Hotel.
“This spot became available, and I felt I should jump on it and go out on my own,” Meldrum said. “It’s a great location, there is good visibility from the street and I have had terrific community support from the moment I opened the doors.”
Meldrum offers a full hair salon experience to men, women and children, as well as waxing and hair care products. She expects to add nail care in the near future.
Meldrum is open days and some evenings, depending upon the schedule of her three children.
“Being able to work around my kids’ schedules is very important to me,” Meldrum said. “I need to be there for them as well as myself and my customers. It all works.”
