RUMFORD – A surprise party was held recently for Robert (Bob) and Charlene Dickson of Rumford on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary, with many friends and family attending.
The event was held at Park Place in Rumford and given by the couple’s five children. Chris and Craig Dickson were the toastmasters, and Kendal Steele gave a toast to her grandparents. A collage of photographs was on display and table centerpieces were arranged by Julie Dickson and Jamie Dayon. The cake was made by Marlene Bryant.
The couple renewed their vows, with the Rev. Angelo Levasseur officiating.
Mr. Dickson and the former Charlene Arsenault were married on Dec. 3, 1955, at St. Theresa’s Church in Mexico.
Their five children are Lynne Steele and husband, Ken, of Damariscotta, Denise Garcia and husband, Steve, Christopher Dickson and wife, Julie, and Melanie Calden and husband, Ricky, all of Rumford, and Craig Dickson and fiancee, Katie Doucette, of Lewiston.
Their grandchildren are Kendal Steele, Brianna, Brittany and Stephanie Garcia, Taylor Dickson, and Nathan and Courtney Calden.
