AUBURN – Eleanor M. Delisle, 78, of Lewiston, wife of Gerard E. Delisle, passed away Saturday, March 25, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.

The daughter of Carolyn Eaton and Alexis Semook, she was born in Augusta on June 9, 1927. Educated at Mt. Merici Academy, Mrs. Delisle attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing as a cadet nurse.

She was employed at the Lewiston Public Library for 21 years full time and six years part time in the outreach program. She was a member of the Lewiston Senior Citizens, St. Mary’s Auxiliary and St. Mary’s Volunteers, Maine Municipal Association, Maine State Retirees and Friends of the Library.

She is survived by her son, Gerard Delisle of Lewiston; a daughter, Diane and husband, James Strickland, of North Berwick; a granddaughter, Kaitlin Strickland, who is attending the University of Minnesota; also leaving many nieces and nephews, also two sisters-in-law. The family wishes to thank the Androscoggin Home Health Care and Hospice.
