EXETER, N.H. (AP) – Fish and Game officers said a Brentwood teen who went for a walk and got lost in the woods did the right thing by staying put and waiting for searchers.

Searchers found the 15-year-old just after midnight Monday about one mile from her house. She left home at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Fish and Game Sgt. Jeffrey Marston said the girl was sitting on a log when searcher reached her. She was cold and her feet were wet.

, but otherwise she was fine.
