LEWISTON – J&J Family Enterprises will bring the NAPA Maine Motorsports Festival – featuring local and regional drivers and the Radio City Pit Crew Challenge – to the Colisee Friday and Saturday, April 7 and 8.
“The NAPA Maine Motor Sports Festival is a one-of-a-kind event in New England. The festival not only brings in the area’s best drivers and their cars, but it also provides hours of fun for the entire family,” said J&J Enterprises owners Joe Palmieri and Jim Fahey.
Some of these fun events include indoor target shooting, a U.S. Army three-story rock wall and activities specifically for children. There will also be about 24 vendors, and two classic rock bands – the Kopterz and the Buccaneers – will play Friday and Saturday nights.
In the Radio City Pit Crew Challenge, crews from Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont will face off against each other in a series of challenges, including the changing of a full set of tires, along with windshield and grill cleaning. The quarterfinals will be held Friday night, with the semifinals held Saturday afternoon and the finals Saturday night. The crew with the best time, and judged to be the most efficient over the two days of the challenge, will be crowned King of The Pits and take home a six-foot trophy – and bragging rights, said Palmieri.
The event will run from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5 each day.
