RANGELEY – Lakeside Dance Academy in Rangeley will present its annual spring dance concert at 7 p.m. April 7 and 8 at the Rangeley Lakes Regional School Gym.
More than 30 dancers ranging in ability from beginner to advanced will perform in tap, jazz, ballet, and “en pointe.” The theme for this year’s production is “Legends,” the styles of legendary choreographers set to legendary rock songs.
Spotlighted will be the talent of senior Raina Eustis, who will be featured in a solo lyric ballet dance. She is working together with Pam Ellis, artistic director of the academy, to choreograph and stage her senior solo piece. She will also perform in three other advanced level dances during the concert.
Dancers performing include Raina Eustis, Sarah Simonds, Krista Brackett, Chelsea Bachelder, Bethany Durgin, Rachel Freihoff-Lewin, Katie Rodway, Kelsey Linnell, Emily Carrier, Ellis Brooks, Danielle Dutile, Mallory O’Neil, and Allie Hammond and Chelsea Dresser. Also, Jenney Abbott, Madison St. Marie, Connor Durgin, Abby Abbott, Morgan Rodway, Brianna Hall, Seve DeRaps, Tala Ferguson, Sophie Wentworth, Emma Fay, Maddison Egan, Casco Haley, Shannon Wahlstrom, Cassidy Medeiros, Ingrid Silver, Natalie Brooks, Tara Kase, and Blayke Morin.
The Lakeside Dance Academy has been providing dance instruction in Rangeley since 1987. There will be a reception after the concert on both nights. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for students ages 12 to 17. Children 6 and under are free. For information, call 864-2556.
