AUBURN – Theresa Nicole Brady and Derek Joseph Hutchinson were united in marriage at noon on Oct. 1 at West Pitch Park in Auburn. Susan Wiers, aunt of the bride, officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Hutchinson is the daughter of Jolene and Paul Darling of Carthage and Mike and Joyce Brady of Pownal. Mr. Hutchinson is the son of Lauren Merchant of Canton and the late Roger Hutchinson of Beverly, Mass.

The bride was escorted by her father down a trail leading to a platform over Great Falls. She wore an above the knee white halter dress with a custom-made white silk coat with a chapel train. She carried a bouquet of red and blue roses and white tiger lilies wrapped with silver ribbon. Blue lilies framed her shoulder length veil and hanging on her necklace was her grandfather’s baby ring. Pinned inside her dress was her husband’s and his grandmother’s baptismal pins and a blue handkerchief.

Jessica Brady was maid of honor for her sister, and Meagan and Brittany Miner, daughters of the groom, and Anne Brown, best friend of the bride, were honorary maids of honor. Gabrielle Merrill, friend of the couple, was flower girl.

Shawn Hutchinson, son of the couple, was best man, and Shawn Adams, late friend of the couple, was honorary best man. Joshua, Shane and Scott Brady, brothers of the bride, and Kevin and Dana Griffin, nephews of the bride, were ushers.

A reception followed at the home of Mike and Joyce Brady in Pownal, after which the couple traveled to Foxboro, Mass., for the weekend to attend a Patriots game at Gillette Stadium. They are residing in Auburn with their son.

Mrs. Hutchinson received her diploma from Lewiston High School in 2003, after having attended the Gray-New Gloucester school system. She is employed at K-Mart.

Mr. Hutchinson is a 1989 graduate of the Auburn school system and is currently a stay-at-home dad to Shawn.
