PORTLAND – Muriel V. Gelinas, 83, of Lewiston, passed away Saturday, April 1, at Maine Medical Center.

Born in Lewiston, she was the daughter of Arthur and Demerise Thibodeau Gamache. She was educated in local schools. She married Joseph Gelinas on Sept. 27, 1947, at the Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years at Crest Shoe as a stitcher.

She was a parishioner of Holy Family Church.

She loved sitting under her favorite tree with her best friend, Rita Parent, and dog, Mai-Ling.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Edward and Roger Gamache; and a sister, Adeline Gamache.
