Bake sale
BUCKFIELD – A bake sale, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, John D. Long Post 58, will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, April 7, in the lobby of the Northeast Bank building, Depot Street.
Sunday speaker
NORWAY – The Norway Unitarian Universalist worshipers will welcome their own Worship Committee chairwoman to the pulpit on Sunday, April 9. Cynthia Seavey has been the chairwoman through transition after the death of the minister, Joy Gasta.
Her sermon title will be “The Inner Garden: Metaphor – Reality.” She is also a master gardener and landscape designer and designed the welcoming garden in front of the church.
The service will begin at 11 a.m. at the First Universalist Church, Norway, 479 Maine St. Child care will be provided. A coffee hour will take place in the the downstairs concert hall after the service.
AARP meeting
PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chapter, AARP, will meet at noon Monday, April 10, for lunch at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, South Paris. Reservations are required by calling Henrietta at 743-6722 by noon Friday, April 7. Cost is $6.50.
The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. Following the meeting, members will fill May Day bags to be taken to the Extension Center for delivery to shut- ins..
Heywood session
NORWAY – The Heywood Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, April 10, at the clubhouse. Members are reminded to bring a wrapped gift for the mystery auction. Plans for upcoming events will be discussed. Anyone wishing a ride is encouraged to call 743-2570.
Spring walk
BRIDGTON – A Step Into Spring Community Walk will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8. There will be one-mile and two-mile walks starting at the Bridgton Community Center, 15 Depot St. All ages are welcome.
Easter services
OTISFIELD – The East Otisfield Free Baptist Church has announced the following services: Thursday, April 13, at 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday service with communion and the Tennebrae Service.
Sunday, April 16, at 6 a.m., Easter sunrise service at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hamilton III, Route 121. There will be light refreshments after the service; 10 a.m.,
Anyone wanting to place flowers in the church for the Sunday morning worship service should bring them to the church between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15. If they are brought in honor or in memory of a loved one, to have name on the Easter flower list, people should call 743-2438 before Monday, April 10.
