LEWISTON – Members of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club will hear a presentation by Jim Chandler of the Auburn Land Lab at noon Thursday, April 6, at the Ramada Inn. Chandler will discuss the land lab and the summer camp program.
Chandler has been in education in one capacity or another for more than 30 years. He has taught at the Elan School and middle school at Oxford Hills, developed educational and conservation programs for the Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District, and worked with schools around the state.
Chandler has been secretary of Canon Envirothon, North America’s largest high school environmental competition, as well as president of the Maine Environmental Education Association.
He is director of the Auburn Land Lab and consulting teach in science for Auburn. Chandler spends his summers diving to control milfoil in the lakes of Maine.
