LIVERMORE FALLS – Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen what happened to a man who was found unconscious and bleeding Thursday night in the downtown area of Depot and Main streets.
Police received a call about 9:08 p.m. that a man was lying face down on the ground covered in blood on the sidewalk in front of the town office, Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Tuesday.
A passerby found the man and called police. The man was at a bar downtown earlier in the evening.
The 22-year-old Livermore Falls man had facial injuries including a large cut on his chin and abrasions on his hands, the chief said.
His facial injuries required several stitches to close, Steward said.
According to a doctor’s report, Steward said the injuries are not consistent with someone falling.
Officer Joe Sage is investigating.
Anyone who may have information is asked to call the police station at 897-3424.
