BALTIMORE, Md. – Scott Robinson struck out 16 as the University of Maine defeated the University of Maryland Baltimore County 9-4 in men’s baseball Friday night.

Robinson (4-2) finished just one shy of the school record for strikeouts by one pitcher in a game. He allowed 10 hits in picking up the complete-game win.

Joe Hough delivered the key blow with a two-run triple in a four-run sixth to give the Black Bears (15-9-1) a 7-4 lead.

Joe Fowler had four hits and knocked in three runs to lead the Retrievers (10-15). Tim Comiskey (1-3) was tagged with the loss.

Trinity 4, Colby 3

WATERVILLE – Trinity erased a 3-1 deficit with two runs in the fifth inning and Erik Paisley scored on an RBI single by Matt Stafford as the bantams edged Colby 4-3 in NESCAC East baseball action.

Sean Killeen collected four hits for Trinity (12-6), knocking in a pair of runs.

Eric McGrath picked up the victory after enterng the game in the fifth, and Stafford, Chandler Barnard, and Guy Gogliettino all had two hits for the Bantams.

Andy Carr sparked Colby (5-6) with a pair of hits, the first a two RBI single in the bottom of the first to put the Mules on the board. Roddy Ames scored the other run for Colby.
