FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Brother Camille Rossignol, SM, 89, a Marist Brother with the Marist Fathers and Brothers of Marist House Framingham, Mass., died Thursday, April 6, at St. Patrick’s Manor Nursing Home, Framingham.

He was born on July 11, 1916, in Van Buren, Maine. He was the son of the late Joseph and Alma (Michaud) Rossignol.

Brother Camille chose religious life and made his religious profession on Sept. 8, 1935, at the Marist Novitiate on Staten Island, N.Y. He was a skilled tradesman and served five years at Maryvale Seminary in Bedford from 1935 to 1940.

He subsequently volunteered for the Marist foreign missions and served for the next 41 years of his life in the South Pacific on the islands of New Hebrides (Vanuatu, 1940-1959) and New Caledonia (1959-1981).

He returned to his homeland USA in 1981, and served as a maintenance man at Marist House until his retirement.

He had been a resident at St. Patrick’s Manor since 2003.

Brother Rossignol is survived by his brothers, Louis and Claude Rossignol, both of Lewiston, and his stepbrothers and sisters, Simone, Jean, Gerry “Emile,” Alma, Alphy, Nelson and Patrick Rossignol.

He was the brother of the late Albert, Rene, Norman and Bernie Rossignol.
