FARMINGTON – Police arrested a Farmington man after responding to a complaint of underage drinking at a party at a Front Street apartment. An officer saw two girls passed out when he arrived.

Police arrested Joshua Turner, 20, of Farmington Saturday on a charge of furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol, Lt. Jack Peck said Monday.

Officer Nathan Reid responded to the apartment located below Depot Laundry at 195 Front St. at 11:55 p.m. Friday. He saw a male carrying two cases of Bud Light to another spot in the apartment not realizing the officer was there, Peck said.

The man came to the door and Reid asked him how old he was, Peck said.

The man answered “20,” Peck said, and Reid told him to go get the beer he had just hidden.

Reid observed two girls passed out among other underage people who had been drinking, Peck said.

There were nine people in all though some party-goers left or scattered when police arrived.

There was no one there that was of legal drinking age, Peck said. Ages ranged from 16 to 20.

Parents were contacted, Peck said, and came to give the young people a ride home with some getting rides with other parents after phone calls.
