Three Lewiston residents renewed their vows

LEWISTON – Three Ursuline Sisters celebrated their jubilees last month at the Maison Marcotte Chapel. Sr. Marie Marc Cantin, a resident at d’Youville Pavilion nursing home, and Sr. Solange Bernier, a Lewiston resident, celebrated their 65th anniversary of serving in the religious profession. Sr. Rita Bourassa, a Maison Marcotte resident, celebrated 60 years of service.

The three renewed their vows of poverty, chastity and obedience during a Mass held at the Maison Marcotte Chapel. A reception followed.

The Lewiston Ursuline Community is one of the largest in the Northeast. There are seven sisters living at Maison Marcotte assisted living apartments, four at d’Youville Pavilion and one who lives at a home in Lewiston.

Those who know the sisters say they have been touched by their devotion to the ministry.
