LEWISTON – Michael McGraw from the Lewiston School Department and Butch Dow, maintenance supervisor at the YWCA of Central Maine, recently organized a soccer clinic for area students. Participation fees were donated to the YWCA. Dow and McGraw donated their time and equipment.

“The soccer programs at the YWCA have become quite popular,” said Dow. “We began this program as a winter sport alternative with just a few regular players. Now we have a following. Adding the soccer clinic was just a natural extension of our program and helps support our organization.” Dow has run the indoor soccer program at the YWCA for the past three years.

“We are extremely fortunate to have Butch on staff running the soccer program. He utilizes his coaching skills to help build soccer skills for those who participate. Butch has worked with girls’ soccer teams in various high schools for quite some time,” said Anne Craigs, executive director of the YWCA.
