AUBURN – Madeleine N. Roy, 89, of Lewiston, passed away Sunday, April 16, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

Born in Canada on Oct. 31, 1916, she was the daughter of Georges and Alice Roy Nadeau. She was educated in Canada.

She married Georges Roy on Sept. 28, 1939. She was a homemaker, and avid knitter, and loved playing cards with her friends. Before retirement, she worked at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in the linen department.

She is survived by two sons, George and partner, Vicki Laflin, of Fayette, Rejean (Sunny) and his wife, Florence, of Lewiston; five daughters, Marielle and husband, Paul Roy, of Lewiston, Marise and husband, Phil LeBel, of Scarborough, Pauline and husband, Sam Hirth, of Brunswick, Madelyn and husband, Gene Drouin, of Lewiston, and Ginette and husband, Norman Theriault, of Lewiston, 19 grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; she also leaves a son-in-law, Chuck and wife, Molly Blakeman, of Yarmouth.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Georges who passed away in 1984; two daughters, Betty Blakeman and Denise Roy.
