The Sun Journal editorial cartoon of April 13 is a classic example of misinformation. The cartoon showed two American Indians discussing the immigration problem facing this country. The cartoon implies that American Indians are native to this country while anyone else is an immigrant.

While American Indian political groups encourage that viewpoint, it’s wrong – they immigrated here, just like everyone else. American Indians are no more native than anyone else born on this continent.

The Sun Journal should be ashamed for perpetuating such political claptrap.

Yes, they lost the wars and the land was taken from them, just as they did to other tribes before European settlers came along.

Why is America the only country that is supposed to apologize for winning its wars?

That cartoon is a good example of the phrase, “If a lie is repeated often enough, it becomes the truth.”
