“You all know who it is?”
Hours of practice,
Lots of tears,
And soar muscles
For just three minutes out on the floor.
Smile, wink, and exaggerate!
The routine is over,
The crowd yells louder.
It’s my first State competition!
I’m so scared!
We wait patiently as the other teams finish
We wonder do the judges like us?
The announcer calls off the runner up,
It’s not us!
We sit patiently waiting for the winner
He says, “The winner is,”
He pauses, we pause,
He says, You all know who it is?”
Then he yells Momnouth Middle School!
I start to cry and the crowd goes ballistic!
We just won States for the first time ever!
That memory will always remain in my mind!
