AUBURN – The Lewiston/Auburn community is preparing for the Empty Bowl Supper to be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at the Unitarian-Universalist Church, Pleasant and Elm streets.

All proceeds will benefit the Trinity Jubilee Center’s soup kitchen and outreach programs.

Young people and adults, artists, parents and students have been making ceramic bowls to hold a wide choice of soups from area restaurants and culinary arts programs: Lewiston Regional Technical High School, the Ground Round, the Midnight Blues Caf and Marco’s Italian Restaurant.

Bread has been donated by Italian Bakery and desserts by Dore’s Caf and Heather’s Bakery in Auburn and by Just Joan’s Caf in Lewiston. Poland Regional High School students are also contributing to the evening’s cuisine. Greg Boardman and local high school and college student fiddlers will offer dinner entertainment again this year.

Tickets begin at $10 for a bowl and supper. Family discounts are available. For more information, contact the Jubilee Center, 247 Bates St., 782-5700 or jubilmin@gwi.net.
