WATERVILLE – The Maine State Organization, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet from Friday through Sunday, April 28 to 30, at the Holiday Inn.
Donna Hoffmann of Bucksport, state DAR regent, will preside. Special guests and speakers from the National Society DAR will be Mary Lou James of Mt. Dora, Fla., chaplain general; Al’Louise Ramp of Canadian, Texas, corresponding secretary general; and Kathy Harvey of Norristown, Pa., national chairwoman of the Friends of the Library Committee.
Activities will include, workshops on E-membership on the DAR Internet site, meetings of the executive and board of management, a memorial service for deceased members, reports of state officers, chairmen and chapter regents.
An awards banquet will be held Saturday evening when state winners of the DAR Good Citizen program and grade school students who are winners in the American history and Christopher Columbus essay contests will be introduced and presented their awards.
Serving as hostess chapters will be Mary Dillingham of Auburn, Carol McNeil, regent; Burnt Meadow of Sabattus, Sheila Desgrosseilliers, regent; and Topsham-Brunswick, Ruth Niles, regent.
