WEST PARIS – Women who would like to know more about managing their woodlots are invited to a “Kitchen Table Gathering” from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 29, at Stearns Hill Farm. The event is sponsored by Women and the Woods, the Maine Forest Service and the University of Maine Cooperative Extension.
The gathering will be facilitated by Tish Carr, a licensed arborist, licensed forester and a certified logging professional who owns a tree service company with her husband, Dale Gilmour.
After an informal discussion and questions and answers on woodlot management, the group will head into the woods to learn techniques for making boundary lines. Dress for the weather and wear appropriate foot gear for a moderate hike. The event will take place rain or shine. Preregister by calling Ellen Gibson, a Women and the Woods volunteer, at 674-3887.
For more information, call Vivianne Holmes at the Androscoggin County Cooperative Extension Office, 1-800-287-1458.
