AUBURN – A judge dismissed all charges against school officials at Poland Regional High School for firing a math teacher after two months on the job.

Earlier, a judge had dropped some of the allegations from the complaint filed by Glenn A. Baxter in Androscoggin County Superior Court.

Baxter, 58, of Belgrade Lakes, had sued the school, administrators and some faculty members in 2001, claiming wrongful termination, defamation and infliction of emotional distress, among other things. Those charges were dismissed in 2002.

The remaining charges – taking of property, punitive damages and age discrimination – were dismissed by Justice Thomas Delahanty II on April 19.

At that hearing, Baxter said he would withdraw his complaint and appeal his case to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.
