LEWISTON – Suzy, the rambunctious German shepherd-husky mix who was lost, found and then lost again this week, has been found again.

The morning after Suzy slipped out of her collar and ran away from a police officer outside the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society in Auburn, she was spotted chasing chickens in a nearby neighborhood. Neighbors fed and cared for her, even bringing her to work and letting her sleep in a car so she could be out of the weather, Suzy’s owner, Anita Wood, said.

Another neighbor recognized Suzy from flyers that Wood posted around the neighborhood and notified Wood.

Wood then found Suzy on Thursday night at a neighbor’s auto body shop, two days after the dog ran away from police.

Wood said she will now get Suzy implanted with a microchip so she can be identified if she ever pulls out of her collar again.
