Dear Sun Spots: Has you son or daughter finished college and left all of their teen/young adult novels behind and no longer needs them? Or have you finished spring cleaning and found some teen/young adult novels just lying around and no longer needed? Please consider donating them to the Auburn Public Library to use for our Teen Summer Reading 2006 program. Gently used please. Please contact Sally at Auburn Public Library for more information. I can be reached at 49 Spring St., Auburn, ME 04210, 333-6640. – Sally Holt, Auburn.

Dear Sun Spots: I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a running club in the Lewiston/Auburn area? – No Name, No Town.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots contacted the Auburn Recreation Department, which said it will be holding a track class for 7- to 14-year-olds starting June 19 and running until Aug. 10. The cost is $30 for Auburn residents and $40 for nonresidents. They meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Registration ends June 14. For more information please contact the Auburn Rec Department at 784-0191.

You may also try contacting Bob Brainard at Central Maine Conditioning Clinic, 1400 Hotel Road, Auburn, to see if there is a running club currently meeting. Sun Spots did not receive a response to her inquiry at press time but would encourage you to contact him at 783-0018 to see if he can assist you.

In the meantime, you might also like to try contacting the Maine Track Club. Founded in 1979, the club has more than 500 members, organizes many road races each year and hosts monthly membership meetings featuring notable speakers from the world of running and fitness. There is a wide range of members, including beginning runners and experienced racers, men and women, children and seniors, with a common bond in the joy of movement and being outdoors. The club sponsors races ranging in distance from 3.1 to 50 miles in length. For more on the club, check them out online at www.mainetrack.club.com or via e-mail at bobaube@mainetrackclub.com.
