Norway – George E. Currier Jr., 74, of South Paris passed away Monday, June 12, at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center, where he had resided for the past three years.

He was born in North Norway on June 4, 1932, the son of George E. Currier Sr. and Mammie M. (Cummings) Currier. He attended schools in North Norway.

He worked many years for A.C. Lawrence Leather Co. in South Paris until the company closed, at which time he went to work for Poland Spring Bottling Co. driving forklifts. He was employed there until his retirement.

He enjoyed hunting and working with his steers, and he never missed the Fryeburg Fair, but his true love was his woodpile.

He spent many hours operating his beloved John Deere bulldozer, pushing wood.

He is survived by two sons, David J. Currier Sr. and his wife, Vicki, of Oxford and Patrick Hussey of West Paris; a daughter, Shari D. Whitman and her husband, Toby, of West Paris; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren with one more due to arrive shortly; a brother, Glen R. Currier and his wife, Bonnie, of Nevada; and a sister, Marie Dyke and her husband, Howard, of North Norway.

He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters; and a daughter, Bonnie S. Henderson in 1993.
