FARMINGTON – A Jay man who pleaded guilty in April to sexual abusing a 14-year-old girl and furnishing alcohol to a minor was sentenced Friday in Franklin County Superior Court.
Christopher K. Walker, 27, was sentenced to two years and six months in state prison for the sexual abuse and to six months in the Franklin County Jail for furnishing liquor. The terms were part of a plea agreement with state prosecutors.
Walker was accused of sexually abusing the teenage girl on Jan. 15 at his apartment at 58 Main St. When Walker made his plea, Assistant District Attorney Andrew Robinson said the Jay man had admitted to police he had sex with the girl but thought she was older.
Had the case gone to court, Robinson said, witnesses would have testified that the girl had gone to Walker’s apartment, where she told him and others that she was 14, and where she was furnished alcohol.
Also in District Court on Friday, Walker had his probation revoked on the original charges of assault and obstructing the report of a crime from a December 2004 incident.
