Brunswick – Patrick O. Caron Jr., 56, of the Dead River Road in Bowdoin, died early Tuesday, June 13, at Midcoast Hospital with family at his side.

He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 21, 1949, a son of Patrick J. Caron Sr. and Jeannine Boillard-Caron. He was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of the greater Lewiston-Auburn community.

On Sept. 23, 1978, in Freeport, he married the former Erma Gerry of Pownal. He served his country in the 619 Transport unit of the U.S. Army Reserves out of Auburn from 1978 to 1982.

He worked many years as a truck driver and for the last several years was employed as a driver in the construction industry until ill health forced his retirement. He was a member of the Derby AA Club and among his favorite enjoyments were spending time with his family and grandchildren, shooting pool, listening to music, watching and being a fan of NASCAR and working on cars.

He really enjoyed “tinkering” and fixing different things, especially electronics. He will be deeply missed by his family and the many friends he made over the years.

He leaves his wife of 27 years, Erma Caron of Bowdoin; his mother, Jeannine Caron of Lewiston; his children, Corrina Lynn Harriman and fiance, Arthur Vigue, of Livermore Falls, Joel Patrick Caron and wife, Cindy, of Lewiston, Timothy Bryant Caron and wife, Janelle, of West Hartford, Conn. and Michelle Washburn and companion, John Blanchette, of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Heather Lynn Harriman, Jesse A. Harriman, Bryant Patrick Caron and Jacob M.T. Caron; a great-granddaughter, Tayah Elizabeth Edmunds; his lifelong best friend, Wilfred “Gonzo” Lagasse of Greene; and his former wife, Beverly Derosiers of Lewiston.
