TYNGBORO, Mass. (AP) – A 23-year-old Marine from Tyngsboro was killed on Sunday in Iraq, the Department of Defense announced Tuesday.

Cpl. Paul King was assigned to the Marine Forces Reserve’s 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division at Ayer. He died during combat operations in the Al Anbar province, the Pentagon said.

At least 39 Massachusetts servicemen have been killed in Iraq since the war began.
