FARMINGTON – Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, located at Main and Academy Streets, will be passing out free hot dogs and punch on the church’s front lawn following the July 4 parade and during the concert on the Pierce House’s lawn. A total of 500 hot dogs will be grilled and steamed in celebration of the day.

The church is once again giving this meal free just as it gives a free monthly luncheon from October to March for the community to enjoy.

This year, organizers have decided to allow the community to give a gift back, not to the church, but to the area’s Ecumenical Heating Fund. This fund, created by several churches in the Franklin County area, helps families by purchasing oil for them during emergency situations. A donation box will be available for those who would like to help keep neighbors warm next winter during these times of high energy costs.

The church invites the public to bring a lawn chair, enjoy the music and refreshments together as a community in celebration of the holiday.
