A report to be released Thursday by the Nellie Mae Education Foundation projects most New England states will see a drop in the percentage of young workers aged 25- to 29 who hold four-year degrees or higher. Here’s a look at the projections for each state, with the percentage in the first year measured compared with the projection for 2020:
Connecticut: 34 percent, 1993; 30.5 percent, 2020
Massachusetts: 43 percent, 1993; 40 percent, 2020
Maine: 20.8 percent, 1996; 19.5 percent, 2020
New Hampshire: 26.5 percent, 1993; 27.5 percent, 2020
Rhode Island: No projection made
Vermont: 28.3 percent, 1995; 28.1 percent, 2020
