Book sale
WATERFORD – The Waterford Library will hold its annual book sale on Tuesday, July 4, as part of the Waterford Village Independence Day celebration. The sale will be from 8 a.m. to noon at the library lawn and will include a large selection of hardcover books for $2, trade and mass-market paperbacks for $1 each, and children’s books for $1 or $2.
The sale will also include videos and audio books. The library will be open during the hours of the book sale.
Dance club
PARIS – The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club will hold its annual ice cream social dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at the Oxford Hills Middle School, Pine Street. John Thompson will call the square dancing and Mark Ward will cue the round dancing. Casual dress. Refreshments will be served at intermission. Nondancers are welcome to watch the dancing. Camera club
PARIS – The Oxford Hills Camera Club will meet at 6 p.m. Mondays at Haskell House or parking lot of the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, South Paris, for either a meeting or field trip. Field trips leave promptly. Call for schedule 743 -1643 or 743 -2704.
AARP picnic
PARIS – There will be no meeting of the Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP in July. The next meeting will be at noon, Aug. 14, for the annual potluck picnic held at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street in South Paris. Call Jan Whittier at 583 -2685 to sign up for what to bring (a dish to share). Also bring a lawn chair. If the weather is rainy or too hot, the picnic will be held indoors.
