LISBON – Motorcyclist Tom Carville, 38, of Lisbon was listed in stable condition at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston late Thursday night after a Wednesday evening crash on Route 196.

Carville suffered facial lacerations and possible leg injuries, according to investigating officer Jason St. Pierre.

The driver of the car, who escaped apparent injury, was identified as Richard Thibault, 60, also of Lisbon. Officer St. Pierre said Thibault was making a left turn from Route 196 into Sabattus Creek Trailer Park and failed to yield the right of way to the oncoming motorcycle.

Damage was estimated at $6,000 to Carville’s 2001 Harley-Davidson and at $4,000 to Thibault’s 1998 Oldsmobile.

The accident remains under investigation, St. Pierre said.
