Scholarship help
WESTBROOK – A record number of Maine high school graduates from the class of 2006 have received scholarships to pursue higher education as a result of the Maine Credit Union movement. The movement recently awarded more than $115,000 in scholarship money to more than 225 students. Collectively, this year represents the largest amount of scholarship contributions ever.
Nearly every Maine credit union awarded at least one scholarship to a member of the class of 2006. A number of credit unions also presented nearly $10,000 in total scholarships to non-traditional students. The amounts of the scholarships awarded by Maine’s credit unions ranged from $250 to $10,000.
