Christie Beaulieu, daughter of Michael and Theresa Beaulieu of Gray and the granddaughter of Laurette Bilodeau and the late Gerald Bilodeau of Lewiston, has received recognition at the University of New England’s spring awards convocation on the Westbrook campus in Portland.

Beaulieu is a 2003 graduate of Catherine McAuley High School and while at UNE majored in dental hygiene and graduated cum laude. She passed her New England boards and is now licensed as a registered dental hygienist with the state.

While pursuing a career in dental hygiene, Beaulieu has also registered with the University of Maine and intends to continue her education in dental hygiene this fall.

Carrie Plourde of Poland Spring recently received a bachelor of science degree in marine transportation operations from Maine Maritime Academy in Castine at the 63rd commencement. Plourde is a graduate of Poland Regional High School. Plourde was also named to the dean’s list for the second semester.

Charles Snow of Pownal was named to the dean’s list at the University of Nebraska at Omaha for the spring semester.

To qualify, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or better for courses taken at UNO during the semester, provided 12 or more semester hours were completed.

Danielle M. DesJardins of Rumford has been named to the dean’s list at Boston University for the spring semester.

Emily Wood, a May graduate of USM/L-A, was featured in an article “What Does It Mean to be an American in 2006?” in USA Today.

Wood, who lives in Poland, is graduating magna cum laude.

She was selected as USM’s outstanding senior for 2006 and plans to pursue a graduate degree in leadership studies at USM/L-A.

She was also featured in a recent article in the Sun Journal.

Ian Connor Crouch, son of John E. Crouch and Poppy Connor-Crouch of Poland, graduated May 14 from Duke University in Durham, N.C., summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts in English.

Crouch received highest distinction for his senior thesis. In April he was elected to Duke’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Crouch attended the Poland Community School and is a 2002 graduate of Edward Little High School.

Jeremy Joseph Hamel, son of Christopher and Victoria Hamel of Industry, has been named to the dean’s list at Endicott College, Beverly, Mass., for the spring term. In order to qualify, students must obtain a minimum grade point average of 3.5, receive no grades below a “C,” and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits for the semester. Hamel is a junior majoring in computer sciences.

Jessamyn Hertell-Hopkins, class of 2008 at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y, has earned honors for the spring semester. She is the daughter of Michael Hopkins and Linda Hertell of Auburn.

Kelly Ann Grant, daughter of Stephen and Valerie Grant of Rangeley, received a bachelor of fine arts degree during commencement at Endicott College, Beverly, Mass. She majored in visual communications.

Marcy Alexandra Muller received her juris doctor degree cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law as well as a master’s degree in public policy and management from the Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service in May.

She spent the summer of 2004 as an intern with Atlanta Legal Aid Society of Cobb County, Ga. Under the auspices of the Bernstein Fellowship, she spent the summer of 2005 as a law clerk in Skowhegan District Court. Muller studied international law abroad last fall at the National University of Ireland in Galway.

Muller was recognized at graduation for her time spent doing pro bono work throughout her law school career with the Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project. In 1998, she received an appointment from then Gov. Angus King to serve on the state Juvenile Justice Advisory Group, a post she held until 2004.

Muller is a 1998 graduate of Mt. Blue High School and received a bachelor of arts degree in sociology in 2002 from the University of Southern Maine. She will be sitting for the Maine Bar Exam at the end of July and hopes to stay in southern Maine to practice law. She is the daughter of Randy and Kathy Muller of Farmington.

Katie Dunn, daughter of Jim and Lorraine Dunn of Lisbon Falls and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Jewell of Buckfield and Lorraine T. Dunn of South Portland, was named to the Cedarville University, Cedarville, Ohio, dean’s list for the spring semester. She is a senior majoring in youth ministries.
