PARIS – The Paris Department of Parks and Recreation has announced that magician Bob Nixon will host a magic show from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 12. The show, designed for children and families, will be staged in the Moore Park gazebo. Nixon’s appearance is part of the town’s summer entertainment series.
Nixon has been performing since the mid-1970s, taking his show on the road from Maine to Florida. His originality won him an award of special merit from the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
Nixon has performed with Tim Sample, Randy Judkins, Ed Morris, Jackson Gillman, LaughingStock Improv Troupe, Wayne from Maine and High Riders. He has been in productions at Community Little Theatre in Auburn and his magical effects have been published in the Magical Arts Journal, a national publication dedicated to magicians.
Admission is free and it is open to the public. Those attending are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and a picnic. In case of rain, the event will be at the Paris Fire Hall, Western Avenue, South Paris.
