NORWAY – Stephens Memorial Hospital Central Supply employee Linda Heino has passed a national exam to become a certified sterile processing distribution technician.

The announcement was made by Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services M. Patricia Cook.

Heino was accredited through the Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc., which develops and administers competency based exams for sterile processing personnel who perform the cleaning, disinfecting, sterilization and inventory practices for companies.

Heino began at SMH in 1996 as a certified nursing assistant. She began working in the central sterile processing department in 2003. She lives in Harrison.
