LEWISTON – Maine Family Federal Credit Union has announced its 2006 scholarship recipients:
Thomas Robitaille, son of David and Susan Robitaille, Lewiston, is the recipient of the Maurice Fontaine Sr. Scholarship. He graduated from Lewiston High School this spring with a grade point average of 4.00, ranked fourth in his class and plans to study environmental management in Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y. He received honor society and science awards, plus lettered in indoor track and cross country. He was a mentor in Big Brothers Big Sisters and worked part-time his senior year.
Emily Morin, daughter of Charles and Linda Morin, Lewiston, and Anne Morin and Larry Comeau, Auburn, is the recipient of the Roger Bissonnette Scholarship. She graduated from Lewiston High School with a grade point average of 3.25 and plans to study early childhood education with a kindergarten to grade three certification at the University of Maine at Farmington.
Morin was active on the high school swim team, lacrosse team and drama club and received academic honor awards. She also volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters, at an infant center, and helped make blankets for the needy.
Jeremy Prue, son of Robert and Deborah Prue, Wales, is the recipient of Maine Family Federal Credit Union’s Founders Scholarship Award. Prue graduated from Oak Hill High School with a grade point average of 3.5 and plans to major in civil engineering at the University of Maine in Orono.
He received honors at the 2005 Future Business Leaders of America Maine State Meet and also attended Dirigo Boys State. He was a member of the National Honor Society and participated in the 2006 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference All-Academic Team in basketball.
Maine Family Federal Credit Union is an $81 million asset credit union with more than 17,400 members. Founded in 1938, the credit union has offices at 555 Sabattus St. and at 831 Minot in Auburn. Its field of membership includes any person that lives, works, worships or attends school in Androscoggin County.
